UV stands for ultraviolet and it is a type of radiation, or light, which is nearly invisible to the human eye. Ultraviolet tattoos do not simply glow in the dark, they require the use of a black light. Clubs, concerts and bowling alleys are places that commonly use black lights.
The basic color of UV ink usually matches the skin after the tattoo has fully healed. This means that you will be able to go to work with a tattoo, in a visible area, without people noticing your tattoo. This will allow a business “professional” to appear businesslike during the day, but still have the ability to be a party-animal at night. In addition to the basic color of black light ink which is virtually undetectable during daylight, there are many other colors available that are visible in daylight. For instance, you can have a tattoo of a yellow sun, which is visible in daylight, but will also glow under black light. Each color of UV ink will glow a different color under a black light. This will give you added creativity when choosing ink colors for your tattoo.
